New York – Athena Art Finance Corporation’s CEO, Andrea Danese, participated in a talk held at the Park Avenue Armory, where he joined an expert panel to discuss The Perils, Pitfalls and Adventures in Art Finance. The panel discussion examined topics relevant to art investors today and was one of several held over the course of TEFAF’s Fall Exhibit held at the Park Avenue Armory.
The Perils, Pitfalls and Adventures in Art Finance discussion was moderated by Elizabeth von Habsburg, Managing Director, Winston Art Group, and also featured panelists Nanne Dekking, CEO, Artory, Inc.; Mitchell Zuckerman, Art Market Advisors; and Evan Beard, National Art Services Executive, US Trust.
Danese discussed Athena’s approach and the increasing demand for financial solutions consistent with the market’s evolution to a financially driven model from a transaction-based one. He also noted the market’s increasing sophistication and understanding of financial vehicles available, as art is increasingly tapped to collateralize loans, support consignment advances, and auction room guarantees.
